Adanath bg.jpg

Nindil’s pride, joy, and testament to her unsurpassed intellect. Adanath was raised under her watchful eye, in the sheltered-away haven, Eden. He grew up hidden from the unfair world of the Leariths. As a young boy, he only knew the simplicity of life and he clung to that simplicity as he grew to become a man. He held a great distaste for death, morally struggling to kill the simplest of animals. However, under Nindil’s firm, guiding hand, he soon blossomed into a warrior with the heart of a leader.

But leaders and heroes are cut from a different cloth. Adanath had been raised by a genius scientist and a political mastermind. As such, he shared their views and had not been given the chance to develop his own. When that which he held most dear, his wife Ninna, was taken in a revolt of fire and blood, Adanath set out on a journey to find her. Along the way, perhaps he’d find himself.

This is the story of how a man, becomes a warrior; and that warrior, a king; and that king, a legend. But Adanath’s story is not a happy one, and legends are never what they seem.

ADANATH

Soon after Adanath’s creation came Ninna. The way an axe was created to cut a tree better than a knife. She was created to be a better tool in the hands of the Learith council – and Nindil. However, Ninna was born with the fire of freedom burning throughout her veins. She longed for a life unshackled from the Leariths.

Smart, resourceful, and with the instincts of a warrior. Ninna can’t help, but feel she was destined for a life greater than the one laid out for her. She dreams of the uncultivated lands outside of the Learith reach. A world fresh with vivacity. She could be the queen of her own people, or perhaps a simple farmer. The most important part, was it being her own choice.

Ninna loves Adanath, but she knows her future is not in the city of Ekur.

NINNA

In 100,000 BC, the Leariths struggled to adjust to their new, mundane way of life. Menial labour was not something that had existed for hundreds of years, but now they’d been thrust back to backbreaking work. The group of Leariths assigned to the mines had truly drawn the short straws. Mining proved to be hazardous to their health in more ways than one. Their bodies developed hunches from being bent over in the shafts. The toxic fumes of the ores caused some to grow deathly sick. And there was always the danger of cave-ins. As more and more of the Learid Miners became incapacitated or dead, and ore veins ran dry, the council began sending younger Learids – kids – into the shafts. However, the Miners had begun to grow restless. They were tired of being slaves to their own people. They were tired of waiting on Ahnlil’s project. The death of a child opened the doors of retribution. The Miners marched from the shafts and stormed through the city as a frenzied mob. They razed the buildings and attacked their peers who’d condemned them to this life. Some chose to find their replacement: Adanath and Ninna.
